ALAN Global Intelligence produces short market-data videos - charts, filings and macro figures drawn from primary sources. The Social Desk is the internal tool our staff use to publish them to the social accounts ALAN owns. Today that is one channel: our TikTok.
Operator sign-in
ALAN staff only. There is no public sign-up, and no account here manages anything but ALAN’s own channels.
How it works
- A video is finished upstream. ALAN’s production pipeline renders the reel. The Desk does not create video; it is the last step, not the first.
- A staff member connects the account. Signing in with TikTok returns access and refresh tokens scoped to ALAN’s own account. The Desk shows that account’s name on screen, so a video cannot be sent to the wrong channel by accident.
- The Desk asks TikTok what the account allows. Who can view a post, and whether comments, Duet and Stitch are available, are the account’s settings rather than ours. Anything TikTok reports as unavailable is shown greyed out and cannot be chosen.
- A person reviews the post and confirms it. A preview, an editable caption, a visibility setting with no preselected value, the interaction toggles, and any commercial-content or paid-partnership disclosure. Nothing posts until a human agrees to TikTok’s Music Usage Confirmation and presses Post.
- The video uploads and publishes. It goes directly to the account, never to a drafts inbox. Processing on TikTok’s side takes a few minutes, and the Desk waits and reports the result.
What it accesses
- user.info.basic
- Reads the profile of ALAN’s own account - its open ID, display name, username and avatar - to address the posting calls and to show which channel is about to receive the video.
- video.publish
- Uploads and posts video to that same account.
- Token storage
- A signed, HTTP-only cookie in the authorizing staff member’s browser. There is no database of tokens. Disconnecting in the tool discards them, and revoking access in TikTok’s own settings ends it immediately.
- Not collected
- Nothing about the people who view, follow or interact with our posts. No subscriber, watchlist or query data from ALAN’s products reaches any social platform.
